Meet my new vocabulary

1. Kudos - congratulations

Kudos on that new apartment you just got!

2. Reply - say something in response to someone/something

Hey did you reply to Dr. Preston’s post on his blog?

3. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious - wonderful

Mary Poppin’s is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

4. Intuitively - without conscious reasoning

My mom intuitively knows how to deal with my little brother when he’s acting up.

5. Uncanny - strange or mysterious

The detectives behavior was very uncanny.

6. Torrent - a strong and fast moving stream of water or other liquid

A torrent broke out in Florida recently.

7.  Affirm - offer someone emotional support or encouragement

I affirm to my siblings when they need someone.

8. Individualism - the habit or principle of being independent and self-reliant

One word to describe me is individualism because I’m very independent.

9. Exacerbate - make a (problem, bad situation, or negative feeling) worse.

My brother tends to exacerbate when he gets in trouble.

10. Allocation - the action or process of allocating or distributing something

The warehouse was doing allocations today.

My learning fall and rise

     In the beginning of the year, I was actually excited to be back at school. Well I guess that’s because I haven’t gone to school since before winter break of last school year. School started on August 12th. That morning I remember getting ready for school and being a bit nervous because I haven’t seen a lot of people in awhile and they haven’t seen me. I arrived at school with many goals, which were to succeed in all my classes, maintain a 3.0 or higher, and get back to being involved.      When Dr. Preston first told the class that our two options were to do book work or an online course. I was confused because after that, he left the classroom and left it up to our class to decide. That was the first time I have ever had a teacher do that. The whole class felt the same as I did, but we soon came to an agreement that we do the online course. Dr. Preston later explained to us what the online course was and what we will be doing throughout the year.      The online course that w
