• a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.
- hobgoblin means mischievous imp or sprite. 

• to be great is to be misunderstood.
 - not sure what this means, but I have an idea that it is saying that to be great is to be something like unique

• character teaches above our wills
- your personality says a lot about yourself
